Ceelsame milk cooperative is one of the cooperatives established and supported by World Vision under DFAT Project. Ceelsame consists of 30 members who are mainly women and it is operational in Ceel-same village under Odweyne District.

Livestock and livestock products play a key role in raising incomes of households and providing a source of protein to many families. Majority of Elbarde communities live in the agro-pastoral and pastoral areas and their livelihoods depend primarily on livestock rearing, in recent years the arid and drought-prone nature of much of Elbarde has deteriorated the food security situation and group survival often difficult and precarious. Camel are highly valued, not only as a means of providing sustenance but also as bride wealth, social status, and a ceremonial centerpiece.

ACF introduced village savings and loans associations (VSLA) methodology in ElBarde district in December 2016, before this the community members did not have a saving culture and always spent their income as soon as they received it. Although the VSLA groups were established and implemented to enhance the financial access of the pastoralist community, the groups have helped not only provide simple savings and loans facilities but also created very good business services according to their respective developed business plans which have helped both to create savings culture and for running business.

The Livestock Market Associations (LMAs) was established by COOPI in 2017 during phase 3 of the DFAT funded Project in Belet hawa and Dollow of Gedo Region. The two Associations consist of 21 male and 9 female. Each Association is composed of 15 members.

Water is one of the basic necessities of life. Safe water is especially critical for children, who are the most vulnerable to water-related diseases. COOPI works in impoverished areas to provide potable water and adequate sanitation to decrease illnesses improve health and lessen the burden on women and children by reducing the distance to water collection points. In addition, sufficient water increases crop production and thus the ability of parents to adequately provide for their children with better nutrition and income from the sale of produce.
